This day is one of the best occasions here in Qatar and one that everyone – locals and ex-pats- love celebrating. It’s a time of joy and camaraderie with everyone coming together to pay homage to this beautiful country.

This day is a national commemoration of Qatar’s unification in 1878. It is celebrated annually on 18 December. But the holiday was established on 21 June 2007 the decree of the then Crown Prince and Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. It is also known as Founder’s Day.

The slogan for Qatar National Day

Every year the National Day Organising Committee reveals a unique slogan for Qatar National Day celebrations. The slogan is usually a quote from a poem by the founder of Qatar. The slogan explains the established faith foundations on which the country was founded and expresses the strength of the people and this land. The National Day 2020 slogan translates to:
